    Not Your Average Self-Portrait

Artists, Click here for the call for art!

Who are you? What shows YOU in the best light for others to see? We aren’t looking for a brilliant Rembrandt style self-portrait, but something that really shows YOU and what you are about in this life.

Members are invited to bring in two works of art for the October exhibit on Artists’ Row.
Artwork must be ready to hang with a hanging wire. “Saw tooth” hangers or simple hanging loops will not work with our hanging system.
There is no size restriction, except that the pieces must fit through the door, and one must
remember that we have over a hundred members who would wish to submit their works, so space
    is at a premium.
There is no fee for submitting, but exhibitors are asked to sit in the gallery for four hours during the month of October, making sales, interacting with visitors and answering the phone.

The exhibit will be juried for entry by Emily Trespas, Instructor in Art at Phillips Academy in Andover. Degrees: BA, Mount Holyoke College; MFA in Printmaking, Cornell
Interests: My fervor to ferret out things undefined from facts to fleece to photographs undefined manifests itself in collecting, recycling, and reinterpreting. I am inspired by potential exchanges between the representational and
nonobjective, ideas of absence and presence, and materials and techniques. I create to understand the
surrounding world, document discoveries, and reveal ties to places, things, and one another. In teaching,
I strive to instill my students with curiosity and confidence in their creative promise.

    Contact gallery@salemartsassociation.org for more information.
    TAKE-IN: OCTOBER 2, 2011 from 4-6 PM
    OCTOBER 3, 2011 from 6-8 PM
