GUIDELINES
Media: any medium as long as it involves multiple mediums
Size limitation: there are no size limitations for this show, except entry through a standard door.
Conditions: Curating will be done from actual work. All work must be delivered and picked up. All work must be original, ready for hanging or display and have been completed in the past 3 years. No wall anchors. Heavy work and work requiring special installation must be installed by the artist. Work previously exhibited in this gallery will not be accepted. LynnArts takes pride in your work: we will not accept broken or damaged work/frames. Entries are invited from all artists over age 17.
Drop-off: Saturday, January 8, 11am-4pm, Thursday, January 13, 10am-8pm, Friday, January 14, 10am-5pm at 25 Exchange Street, Lynn, MA. Please fill out the following information for each piece and attach to the back of your work: number of pieces submitted, artists name, address, daytime phone number, email address, title of piece, medium and price. In addition, please fill out an Artist Inventory List, available at www.lynnarts.org.
Notification: All artists will be notified by e-mail January 19-20. If you do not have an e-mail address, please call LynnArts between 1 and 5 pm.
Work not accepted: Must be picked up on January 20-22 during regular business hours.
Accepted work: Unsold work must be picked up February 17, 18 & 26 during regular business hours.
Commission: LynnArts, Inc. retains a 25% commission on all work sold during the show.
Liability: Artwork will be insured upon arrival at LynnArts. We reserve the right not to insure works that are damaged or structurally unsound. Works left at LynnArts beyond the stated pick-up date are not insured and will be charged a $5 per day/per piece fee.
The Juror: Stephanie Walker, owner of Walker Contemporary on Harrison Avenue in the South End, has over ten years of experience as a contemporary art dealer. Walker began her career at a gallery specializing in 19th & 20th century American impressionist work and then became the Director of a contemporary art gallery on Newbury Street, where she remained for more than eight years. Walker also spent a year living in Los Angeles; traveling all over the country to fairs, galleries and artists’ studios, a pivotal opportunity that only solidified and deepened her passion for working with contemporary art and artists. Walker is deeply committed to the advancement of outstanding contemporary art through the promotion of dedicated, innovative and passionate, emerging, mid-career and established artists.
LynnArts, Inc. is a private non-profit arts organization located in Lynn’s Central Square at 25 Exchange Street. The building houses two large and airy gallery spaces as well as a black-box rehearsal/performance space and several artist studios. The LynnArts office welcomes queries regarding artist exhibition proposals, membership, teaching opportunities, and rental of office and studio space.
